“Ian has done a fantastic job as Architect...he met neighbours and the parish council and won their support. He has produced a very creative contemporary design which fits in well with it's coastal location and we are delighted with the results.“

Project

Originally, the site was home to a dormer bungalow build mid 20th century. The building was of little architectural merit and did not make the most of the wonderful surrounding setting. Arco2 jumped at the opportunity to harness the scenery’s beauty and create a versatile home in harmony with the landscape.

LANDSCAPE CURVED GARDEN

A garden designed to shield other buildings from the ground floor’s view. It makes the most of the large green space that leads your eye to the sea. The selection of wildlife-friendly plants encourages bees and flowers to blossom.

DESIGN FEATURES:

  • Unobstructed sea views
  • Beautifully curved meadows
  • Wildlife-friendly plants

PART SUBTERRANEAN

In order to keep the building’s original height and thus maintain neighbour’s views, the lowest floor is built into the ground on three sides. The fourth side has unobstructed windows with perfect views to the sea.

DESIGN FEATURES

  • Games room leading out onto the garden
  • Two double bedrooms with en-suites
  • Perfect sea view

SUSTAINABLE FEATURES

A considerate and ingenious build with sustainability and harmony built in throughout.

  • Low energy sourced building materials
