Project

After much consideration our clients decided to altar and extend their much loved period farmhouse property to provide additional modest living space. What was once an inward looking relatively dark house has been transformed into a light filled, spacious and modern family home.

Period Farmhouse

Although relatively small in scale, the alterations have completely transformed this property. Opening it up to its beautiful woodland setting and creating seamless transitions between inside and outside.

Design Features:

  • Located in idyllic woodland
  • Juliet Balcony
  • Abundance of natural light

Stunning Lakeviews

The alterations have opened up the house to the surrounding gardens maximising views of the adjacent lake and countryside beyond.

  • Master bedroom with private rooftop terrace
  • Treasured khoi carp
  • Peaceful outside space

Sustainable Features

The design used a fabric first approach to the extension to make as insulated and airtight as possible. Timber frame construction allowed for good levels of insulation to be included.

  • Full fill wood fibre based insulation
  • Breathable construction
  • Triple Glazed
  • Cedar shingle cladding
