Higher Tregarne is an ambitious yet sensitive remodelling of an old farmhouse in Falmouth. ARCO2 combined simple modern spaces with the old exterior to create a stunning retrofit.
Sensitive retrofit
Poor quality late C20 extensions were removed and replaced with simple modern low energy spaces clad externally in locally sourced green oak. This dwelling is the epitome of modern refurbishment.

Family designed living
Making the most of the large spaces afforded, ARCO2 added a glass link and living spaces that open into one another centered around a generous kitchen dining room. The landscaped garden and lawn provide perfect outdoor spaces too.

Sustainable Features
Not only is this building refurbished kindly, but it is highly efficient. The heavy insulation makes for low energy bills, high comfort and excellent indoor air quality. Thermal upgrading of existing building fabric means it is incredibly adapted for minimising heat loss.
