Project

The emphasis for these units was to design a sustainable development that was forward thinking and constructed in a sustainable manner, incorporating locally sourced materials.

LIVE/WORK UNITS

ARCO2 felt that because the design needed to encapsulate the essence of this new live/work concept, the buildings needed to take advantage of the site, its context and sustainable principles whilst retaining the "green feel" within the sites boundaries.

DESIGN FEATURES:

  • The public only has a view of work areas
  • Glulam timber post and beam construction
  • Each unit has a private amenity area

LOCALLY SOURCED MATERIALS

Recycled and natural materials were specified for this design. Timber was sourced from sustainable forests and supplied through local resources along with the western red cedar shingles.
