Features:
This luxury barn conversion is sited adjacent to an old mill and has been refurbished and converted to self-catering holiday accommodation. Extra levels of insulation were included in roof floors to allow retention of many of the internal stone walls and this combined with ground source heat, under-floor heat distribution and solar thermal hot water is intended to provide a sustainable approach to the energy needs of an old building.
The project also includes rainwater harvesting and extensive use of locally grown oak cladding, reclaimed wool insulation all of which is presented within a contemporary context.
