Project Brief
Type: Residential / New Build
Area (m2): 76
This contemporary self-contained annexe provides private accommodation away from the existing Bed and Breakfast business. The design concept was to appear distinctively different from the existing building so that the modern intervention could be easily distinguished. This has been achieved using traditional vernacular materials that are respectful to the landscape. The building is constructed of timber frame with breathing walls and insulated with reclaimed sheep wool insulation. The building is heated via an LPG condensing boiler with underfloor heating which has relatively clean emissions and wood-burning stove.
