TREBOUL HOUSE
This Grade II listed farmhouse circa 1860 was built for the Port Eliot estate by the Great Western Railway.
RESTORING A TUDOR GOTHIC FARMHOUSE
This historic Tudor Gothic farmhouse in Saltash, Cornwall was carefully restored and reconfigured by ARCO2 to create a functional and comfortable modern family home while preserving the character and grandeur of the original property. The project focused on respecting the architectural heritage of the building while improving the layout for contemporary living.
Through thoughtful spatial planning and sensitive restoration work, the redesigned home balances historic detail with practical family focused spaces. Original features and proportions were retained wherever possible, while the internal arrangement was refined to improve flow, usability and natural light throughout the house.
The result is a timeless family home that combines heritage architecture with modern comfort, ensuring the farmhouse remains both practical and architecturally significant for future generations.
We work across the county as experienced architects in Cornwall, specialising in heritage properties, listed buildings and sensitive contemporary renovations.
GRADE II LISTED
This property is a stone built dwelling sited within a mature garden at approximately 1.5 acres. Interestingly it was built as compensation for land lost in St Germans village when the railway was constructed.
Design features include a grand curved staircase, dormer windows crafted to match the original style, and black terracotta ridge tiles that complement the historic character of the farmhouse.
LOCALLY SOURCED MATERIALS
The property has locally distinctive characteristics built with a high level of craftsmanship and an impressive quality of materials externally, generally local stone with what is assumed Pentewan Stone detailing.
Design features include rubble stone walls, a natural slate roof, and timber cladding that complements the building’s traditional character.
MODERN FAMILY HOME
Our clients were determined that the work carried out was of the highest standard and the alterations were sympathetic and respectful in order to create a more useable and suitable modern family home.
