SUMMER WINDS
Extension and alterations to a 1970’s former bungalow with dramatic panoramic views.
A SENSITIVE EXTENSION IN NORTH CORNWALL
This project in Boscastle, North Cornwall involved the careful design of a front extension that created additional living space while preserving the openness and usability of the rear garden. The aim was to improve the home’s functionality without compromising the character of the property or its relationship with the surrounding landscape.
The extension was designed to feel balanced and well connected to the existing house, introducing improved natural light, better internal flow and practical modern living spaces. Careful consideration was given to scale, materials and detailing to ensure the addition sat comfortably within its setting.
The result is a thoughtful contemporary extension that enhances day to day living while respecting the character and charm of this historic North Cornwall village.
We work with clients across the county as experienced architects in Cornwall and trusted North Cornwall architects, creating bespoke extensions, renovations and sustainable homes designed around each site and lifestyle.

NATURAL LIGHT
During the design process it was decided that Triple glazed roof lights should replace some of the existing windows on the North side. This resulted in less overlooking of neighbours, more thermal efficiency and more aesthetically pleasing.

SUSTAINABLE FEATURES
Improvements to the existing building fabric were paramount to this property including externally insulating with rendered finish), replacing existing UPVC external joinery with high quality timber frame and removing the sub-standard block work utility room of poor construction and replace with a rendered, sedum roof extension.
