Project
Located near Mylor Bridge, Cornwall, this project carefully transformed a 17th century cottage and adjoining 19th century barns into a versatile contemporary family home. The design approach focused on preserving the historic character of the original buildings while sensitively integrating modern technology and updated living spaces.
By combining heritage restoration with contemporary architectural interventions, the project creates a home that balances traditional craftsmanship with modern comfort, energy performance and flexible family living. The result is a carefully considered conversion that respects the site’s rural history while supporting contemporary life for the future.
As experienced Architects Cornwall, we specialise in heritage renovations, barn conversions and contemporary rural homes across Cornwall, combining sustainable design with sensitive restoration and modern architecture.

FAMILY ORIENTATED
Natural light is healthy, improves wellbeing and brings more openness to an environment and home.
Practical features include a spacious landscaped garden, bright open living areas, and a dedicated plant room.
SUSTAINABLE FEATURES
Restronguet Barns are sustainable in design, powered by solar panels and heated via Kensa ground source heat pumps and solar thermal collectors for hot water heating
Design features include a green roof, renewable energy systems, and highly insulated walls with triple-glazed windows.
