Concept design for Wickerton House, a contemporary Paragraph 84e countryside home designed as a Passivhaus Premium energy-positive dwelling integrated within the landscape.

Pre-Application Submitted for Wickerton House: A Contemporary Paragraph 84e Countryside Home

We are delighted to have submitted a pre-application for Wickerton House, a proposed Paragraph 84e countryside home that seeks to combine exceptional contemporary architecture with ambitious environmental performance.

Conceived as a landscape-led dwelling that appears to emerge naturally from the land, the design draws inspiration from the site’s historic Osier beds and local heritage. The architectural approach reinterprets these influences through a contemporary language that celebrates local stone, biodiversity and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.

The proposal has been developed with sustainability at its core and aspires to become one of the UK’s first Passivhaus Premium homes. Designed as a net-zero, energy-positive dwelling, Wickerton House would be capable of generating more energy than it consumes while delivering outstanding levels of comfort, wellbeing and long-term resilience for its occupants.

Alongside its energy ambitions, the project aims to deliver meaningful ecological enhancement through native planting, wildflower meadows, living roofs and the creation of new habitats that support local wildlife and biodiversity. The result is a vision for a home that works in harmony with its environment, balancing contemporary living with responsible stewardship of the landscape.

We look forward to engaging with the local authority and wider project team as the design progresses and to continuing the development of a proposal that places architecture, sustainability and nature at the heart of the project.
