Innovative Cladding and Low Energy Construction on a Cornish Self Build
This striking self build is beginning to reveal its character, with innovative maintenance free cladding now taking shape on site.
Although the scaffolding is still in place, the emerging finish already hints at a bold and carefully considered contemporary home. We are looking forward to seeing the full effect once the scaffolding comes down and the external materials can be appreciated properly.
Innovation has been central to the project from the outset. The owners have embraced a Cornish ICF system by R-Wall for the external walls, structure and insulation, creating a robust and highly efficient building fabric. This approach supports long-term performance while helping to reduce maintenance and improve the overall comfort of the home.
The project also continues to push the boundaries of sustainable design, with solar panels being incorporated in a particularly clever way. More will be revealed as the build progresses.
It is always rewarding to work with clients who are open to innovation, performance-led construction and thoughtful architectural detailing. This home is shaping up to be a confident example of contemporary self build design in Cornwall.
