Architects in Trebetherick
Looking for architects in Trebetherick? ARCO2 designs contemporary, low-energy homes around Trebetherick, Daymer Bay and the Camel Estuary, with long-standing personal and professional connections to the village.
Our work responds carefully to views, neighbouring amenity, coastal exposure, landscape character and the St Minver planning context.
Sustainable architecture rooted in Trebetherick
Trebetherick sits between Rock, Daymer Bay and Polzeath in a highly sensitive coastal landscape. Successful homes here need to balance long views and contemporary living with neighbouring amenity, village character, exposure and the policies of the St Minver Neighbourhood Plan.
ARCO2’s connection is unusually direct. Director Ian Armstrong’s family ran the former Trebetherick fuel station and garage, his mother grew up in the village, and Ian worked locally while studying architecture. That understanding is reinforced by years of project experience in the area.
Residential experience in Trebetherick
Highfield replaced an adapted 1930s bungalow on a sloping plot overlooking the estuary and golf course. Its triple-gable form retained a familiar scale, protected neighbouring views and created private panoramic outlooks. The low-energy timber-frame home uses recycled-cellulose insulation, triple glazing, high airtightness and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery.
At Greenaway, a sensitive coastal site near St Moritz called for a modern response shaped by sea views, the coast path and landscape character. The design combines external insulation, a ground-source heat pump, heat-recovery ventilation, a biodiverse green roof and new Cornish hedgerows.
From early feasibility to a completed home
We can help assess a property before purchase, test the planning potential of an existing dwelling, develop a replacement-home strategy and coordinate the technical route through construction. Our architecture and construction knowledge helps turn early design decisions into practical, buildable outcomes.
