BosvigoSchool – Children’s Centre -Truro

The Friends of Bosvigo School approached ARCO2 to design a new children's Centre for Bosvigo School and it's surrounding community following abortive work with previous architects. Because of lack of time, a fast procurement and build method was necessary and the ecofab system became the obvious choice.

The resulting multi-use building was completed in 2008 and provides flexible multi use space within a highly efficient envelope comprising straw bale natural sheeps wool. Heated by a small 5 Kw air source heat pump supplying underfloor heating system the building set remarkable standards for energy efficiency especially coupled with the 4kw array of PV, which, though part of the projects funding, was positioned on an adjacent roof to maximise solar exposure.
