Martin Penk BA (Hons), Sustainable Building Consultant
Together with Architect Nick Donaldson, Alan Hughes, Sion Pierce, Adam Kent, Jill Bromley-Fox and Joshua Penk, our combined skills, knowledge and experience form an architectural service somewhat different to our competitors.
Cornish architecture has a fine tradition of ingenuity, invention and creativity. We intend to build on this through a sensitive approach to ‘green’ design. Our primary concerns are to improve the built environment through healthy buildings, in turn achieving a cleaner environment and reducing life cycle costs.
As a company we are dedicated to promoting exuberance, passion, commitment and experience within our architecture.
ARCO2 aim to raise perceptual awareness of sustainability in architecture. We aim to provide you with a unique design, whether it is a sympathetic conservation type project or a contemporary innovative design.
Our objective is to fulfil the needs of the client in terms of cost, quality, time, aesthetics, function, performance and sustainability.
The practice name ARCO2 is a synonym of Architecture and CO2, the result being quality architecture and a reduction of Carbon Dioxide and other harmful emissions made within the construction process and the life of the building.
VARIED EXPERIENCE
Ian and Nathan had previously worked together as a partnership for four years, and worked together at a Cornish based practice for three years. Martin worked as a sole practitioner for one year undertaking sustainable buildings and had also been involved in the construction of several solar buildings.
Ian, Nathan and Martin combined skills to work on a sustainable project, the demand for similar buildings led to the formation of ARCO2.
